Do you know the Real Poilievre? Read the file.

Pierre Poilievre is a threat to what we value as Canadians. Public healthcare for all. Stronger pensions for retirees. Dental care for seniors and children. Child care that’s there for parents when they need it. Prescription medicines we can afford. Gun control laws that keep us safe. In an uncertain world, programs like these help keep your family healthy and secure. But to Pierre Poilievre, they are targets. He’ll weaken them. Cut them. Tear them down. His instinct is always to attack the institutions that support Canadians and strengthen our country. The record is clear: when times are tough, Poilievre and his Conservatives will cut us loose.

  • He’s a Threat to Public Pensions

When he was 31 years old, Poilievre qualified for a pension now worth 3.4 million dollars. It’s paid for by Canadian taxpayers like you. What is his plan for YOU? As Prime Minister, he could put your retirement in jeopardy. He voted against strengthening public pensions and voted to raise your retirement age to 67.

  • He’s Weak on Gun Safety

Poilievre has the strong support of the National Firearms Association (NFA), and has committed to the NFA’s goals. He has made a commitment to roll back gun control laws and has voted against background checks.

  • He’ll Cut Health Care

Electing Poilievre and the Conservatives puts our public health care system at risk.

Last time they were in power, Poilievre and the Conservatives cut health care funding by tens of billions of dollars.

Poilievre and the Conservatives voted against free dental care for children and seniors, and opposed universal pharmacare. Poilievre refuses to stand up to Conservative premiers who are privatizing and weakening our public health care system, and won’t answer questions about what he would do about creeping private health care.

  • He’ll put Child Care on the Chopping Block

Child care is on top of the chopping block if Pierre Poilievre becomes Prime Minister. A Conservative government would put our national $10-a-day child care program at risk and make it even harder for parents to access a space when they need it. He has referred to it as the “government’s babysitting bureaucracy.

  • He’ll put Abortion Rights at Risk

Anti-choice group “Right Now” rated Poilievre’s voting record 9/10 on abortion issues, including his welcoming of anti-choice voices into the Conservative Party.

He’s been clear that he would allow anti-abortion activists to set the agenda and leave women’s rights at the mercy of the most extreme members of his caucus.

When he was asked, “Are you going to give your MPs the freedom to vote their conscience on issues of life?” Poilievre was clear: “I do believe in free votes, so there’s your direct answer.”

And how would Conservative MPs vote when Poilievre gives them the chance? It turns out that the Conservative caucus is full of anti-abortion activists.
